Dr. Nancy Lewarne
Dr. Lewarne is originally from Illinois and earned an undergraduate degree in Graphic Design from the University of Iowa in 1988. She spent three years doing photography and typography in Washington D.C., but ultimately had a calling to 'save the cats' and returned to Iowa, graduating from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. As it turns out, she also has a soft spot for dogs. Dr. Lewarne worked in an emergency and critical care hospital in St. Louis for a year, then as a full time small animal practitioner in Alabama for 10 years. Since returning to the midwest in 2007, she has been providing relief veterinary care in this area, and Dr. Lewarne has been a regular at Seville Animal Hospital for several years now.
In her spare time, Dr. Lewarne likes to cook, but not bake; likes to hike, but not run; and is a crossword puzzle junkie. She currently lives in Sharon Township with her husband, Todd Axlund (a classmate from vet school), her two daughters, Grace and Sam, her dog Mabel, and three cats, Fig, Olive and Ivy.
Kim started her veterinary career in May of 1995. When Kim is not at Seville Animal Hospital, she enjoys the company of her family and dogs. She has an English Mastiff named PJ and an English Bulldog named Umi. She loves spending time at dog shows with her friends and also enjoys stained glass, reading and gardening. Kim is proud of the fundraising event she and her friends hold each year to raise money for mastiff health research and mastiff rescue.
