Seville Animal Hospital is proud to share with you Spencer's weight loss history and progress report. Spencer is an 8 year old Beagle who presented to our hospital with multiple health issues including general loss of mobility due to his obesity. Because Spencer's health problems extended beyond the scope of care the owners were able to provide, the doctors and owners initially agreed that euthanasia would be the humane choice for Spencer. After much deliberation over any other possible ways to help Spencer without having to euthanize him, the owners agreed to place him in another home where, hopefully, diet and lifestyle changes along with medication will help Spencer to lose weight and minimize his health issues resulting from his obesity. Exercise will be introduced and gradually increased as Spencer is safely able to do so.

 

Spencer's history:

Current Weight	50lb
Goal Weight	30lbs

 

Spencer's bad habits that contribute to his obesity:

• Constantly begging when his new family is eating dinner or snacks
• Breaks in food bag while his family is sleeping
• Sleeps all the time

Spencer's health problems associated with his obesity

• Legs quiver after excercising
• Can not stand for long periods of time
• Tires easily
• Dry and itcy skin
• Shortness of breath
• Difficulty hearing heart
• Tongue turns blue when gets excited
